Q. What is a Placement?
A Placement Year, or “Sandwich Year” as it is commonly known, enables you to spend a year in industry to gain valuable work experience before returning to your final year to complete your studies. It gives you the opportunity to link theory and practice together for a greater understanding of the business environment, and develop a whole host of key, transferable skills employers are actively recruiting for.
Q. What are the benefits?
Finishing your studies with a good result is obviously important, but a great way to stand out from the crowd is your work experience.
Extensive research highlights the vast majority of employers prefer to recruit graduates who have undertaken a placement year as part of their studies, with many employers using Placement students as a talent pipeline for their graduate roles.

Q. What are the criterion for eligibility?
To undertake a Placement Year within Keele Management School, we ask the following:
1. Good academic standing
2. Good attendance and engagement record
3. Passed all Level 4 and Level 5 (semester 1) modules
4. Average overall mark of 60%+
5. Be eligible to work in the UK
