Kendal Green Watch, Kendal On‑Call and Kirby Lonsdale On‑Call crews took part in another successful exercise last night.

We worked through confined‑space rescue procedures and high‑rise scenarios, this was made even more realistic thanks to kendal Nutricare opening their doors to us.

Training opportunities like this help our crews grow, learn and stay prepared for real‑world incidents. We’re incredibly grateful for the support from Kendal Nutricare.

Last night Kendal Green Watch and the Oncall crew took part in a highly realistic RTC training drill, supported by the fantastic volunteers from Casualties Union. Their commitment, professionalism, and ability to bring real‑world behaviours into the scenario made a huge difference to the quality of our training.

Realistic casualty simulation helps us sharpen our skills, practise critical decision making, and prepare for the moments that truly matter. It ensures we’re ready to deliver the best possible care when the real thing happens.

A huge thank you to everyone from Casualties Union for giving up their time and helping us train to the highest standard. Your support directly strengthens our service and the community we protect.

Between 7pm and 9pm tomorrow evening (Tuesday 3rd March), firefighters from Kendal Fire Station will be tackling a simulated building fire at Riverside Apartments Lound Road Kendal (the old K Village), which enables us to practise our procedures designed to protect you in the event of a real incident.

Do not be alarmed if you notice an increased number of service vehicles and firefighters in the area during this period, as these will be supporting the exercise. Simulated smoke will also be used as part of the scenario.

During the exercise, access to and from the car park will be disrupted, but still possible if necessary.
