All over Britain, motorcycles are being polished and leather jackets are being patchouli oiled in preparation for tomorrow as its the third (and last official) Dave Day.

It is estimated that over 50,000 motorbikes are going to participate to celebrate the life of one of Barrow's favourite sons Hairy Biker, Dave Myers.

The Cumbrian leg kicks off from Moto Services at Lancaster at 2.15pm and heads up the M6, then on to the Kendal bypass at J36, along the A590 and up Abbey Road where most will park behind the town hall in Barrow.

As always Lake District Radio will be sending their own hairy bikers along to take videos and make sure you dont miss out if you can't go and wave them on.

Who says all the good cultural stuff happens in London !

Westmorland Hall and The Glasshouse International Centre for Music have announced a new Kendal Classics season, bringing live orchestral music to the town, with performances from Royal Northern Sinfonia, rhe Hallé and Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra.

Concerts will take place at Westmorland Hall and Kendal Parish Church, bringing a varied programme of classical music to audiences in South Cumbria.

The season opens on 17 October 2026 with cellist Sheku Kanneh-Mason one of the UK’s most in-demand classical musicians, performing Saint-Saëns’ Cello Concerto, conducted by Dini’s Sousa, Music Director of Royal Northern Sinfonia.
