✨ This is fostering from an adult child's perspective ...✨
“Being part of a fostering family has been one of the most meaningful and eye-opening experiences of my life. It has allowed me to see, first hand the difference that love, stability and care can make to a child.
Being part of a family who foster has changed my view on family, kindness and what it truly means to support someone.
From the moment the girls arrived, it was clear how important it was to create a safe and welcoming environment for them. My mum and her partner have done this so naturally.
They are both incredibly patient, understanding and nurturing, always putting the girls' emotional needs first.
Watching them has taught me that it not just about providing a home - it's about building trust, offering reassurance and showing consistent love
What stands out most to me is how deeply the girls are cared for. They are not just looked after; they are truly valued and celebrated. Mum and her partner go above and beyond to ensure that the girls experience the best parts of childhood. Whether it be helping with homework, encouraging their hobbies, or simply spending quality time together, everything is done with genuine care and intention.
It's clear that the girls feel safe and supported, and seeing their confidence grow over time has been incredibly rewarding.
The two girls have had an enormous impact on my own family. My two children adore the girls and they have formed a close bond. Their relationships are somewhat similar to cousins. My own children are always asking to see the girls and want to be in their company. The noise of laughing children in the garden has been magical.
The girls have flourished in their care and I believe this is because of the life experiences the girls have gained such as going on a family holiday, day trips and new hobbies such as brownies/rainbows or roller skating. The girls have been able to explore what they genuinely like and creating new hopes and dreams for their future”.
