Sunny Friday round up incoming...
🌞 This week has seen our new Mayor leap into action with SEVEN events including a fundraising dinner, the Big Fix at the repair cafe, World Bee Day at the library and the opening symposium for the One Humanity Project.
🌞 We were thrilled to welcome our new Youth Council into Jubilee House for an informal meet up and get to know you session. Needless to say we were suitably impressed and cannot wait to get started with our initial meeting taking place in mid-June!
🌞 Yesterday evening we held a Planning Committee Meeting and Finance Committee Meeting. Various grants were awarded including £1950 to the Scouts Jamboree, £1000 towards the Old Town Festival and £1000 for Band of Brothers.
🌞 Last night, our Finance Committee also approved a recommendation to spend up to £125,000 of Community Infrastructure Levy Funding on the new skatepark at Castle Farm. This will still need to be formally approved and granted by Full Council on 4 June 2026, however, members were very pleased to see progress being made on this project.
🌞 Finally, it has been all hands on deck to get ready for this Sunday's 'Living History Afternoon' in Abbey Fields! Some minor hiccups haven't scuppered our enthusiasm and we hope you'll all come along to this free event and appreciate a little bit of Kenilworth's own history!
