The wonderful Kenilworth Show is back for 2026 taking place this Saturday 6 June at Stoneleigh!

The Kenilworth Show is a much-loved annual event attracting around 10,000–12,000 visitors, celebrating agriculture, rural life, local businesses and the wider community. With deep roots in Kenilworth and the surrounding Warwickshire area, it is very much a local show for local people and an important date in the town’s calendar.

You can book tickets before the event by following this link - https://www.kenilworthshow.co.uk/buytickets or on the day (but you'll pay a bit more!)

So what has the Town Council been up to recently?

📣 Firstly a huge thank you to everyone who came along and joined in with our 'Living History Afternoon' in Abbey Fields! We truly hoped you enjoyed the activities on offer and a special thank you to all of our volunteers who dressed up in the sweltering weather and gave up their time.
📣 Speaking of events, we are busy getting ready for hosting a stall at the Kenilworth Show this Saturday, 6 June 2026! If you haven't already booked your tickets you can still do so here - https://www.kenilworthshow.co.uk/buytickets...and the Town Council have also awarded a grant to the show for putting on a shuttle bus going from Warwick Road to the showground so no need to worry about parking! Just keeping our fingers crossed for some sunshine now! Do come and say hello!
📣 Its a new month and that means our Mayor has been busy gathering the next few prizes for our Medieval Matches Game! If you haven't tried it yet, all you need to do is have a go at matching the medieval logos to our modern day businesses, and in return the Town Council offers a local prize to one lucky winner! Look out for our post later in the day for the link and June's offering! *Hint - its a tasty one!*
📣 This Thursday we will be holding a Town Council Meeting and Planning Committee Meeting in the Council Chamber from 7pm. This meeting of the calendar year is always particularly important as it includes formal approval of the Annual Governance Statement and Accounting Statements for the financial year. This is a public meeting and all residents are welcome to attend.
📣 Finally a shout out to all those residents who do not yet have a Kenilworth Castle Residents Pass...if you don't...why not! Apply here - https://kenilworth-tc.gov.uk/information/castle-pass/castle-pass-application-form/

There are a series of upcoming planned road closures as part of the A46 Stoneleigh Junction Improvement Scheme.

To safely carry out essential works associated with the scheme WCC will need to close the Stoneleigh Road bridge over the A46.

The closures are scheduled to take place on the following dates:

30 May and 31 May 2026
26 June and 29 June 2026
03 July and 06 July 2026
25 July and 26 July 2026

Further information, including scheme updates and drawings, is available on the Warwickshire County Council website:

11 July 2026 🙌🏻

We're delighted to announce that the new swimming pools at Abbey Fields will open to the public on Saturday 11 July.

The brand-new facilities comprising two indoor pools are the result of a £multi-million investment by the council to provide additional year-round pool-space for the people of Kenilworth and the wider district.

Follow Abbey Fields Swimming Pool for the latest updates, including getting started with a membership.

Unfortunately, and understandably, the horse and cart rides at our ‘Living History Afternoon’ tomorrow (Sunday) have been withdrawn. The forecasted temperatures are simply too high and the welfare of the horses has to remain a top priority. We will still be holding all other activities so do still come and join us from 2pm…the ice cream van will still (thankfully!) be in attendance!

Sunny Friday round up incoming...

🌞 This week has seen our new Mayor leap into action with SEVEN events including a fundraising dinner, the Big Fix at the repair cafe, World Bee Day at the library and the opening symposium for the One Humanity Project.
🌞 We were thrilled to welcome our new Youth Council into Jubilee House for an informal meet up and get to know you session. Needless to say we were suitably impressed and cannot wait to get started with our initial meeting taking place in mid-June!
🌞 Yesterday evening we held a Planning Committee Meeting and Finance Committee Meeting. Various grants were awarded including £1950 to the Scouts Jamboree, £1000 towards the Old Town Festival and £1000 for Band of Brothers.
🌞 Last night, our Finance Committee also approved a recommendation to spend up to £125,000 of Community Infrastructure Levy Funding on the new skatepark at Castle Farm. This will still need to be formally approved and granted by Full Council on 4 June 2026, however, members were very pleased to see progress being made on this project.
🌞 Finally, it has been all hands on deck to get ready for this Sunday's 'Living History Afternoon' in Abbey Fields! Some minor hiccups haven't scuppered our enthusiasm and we hope you'll all come along to this free event and appreciate a little bit of Kenilworth's own history!
