In response to the current hot weather, Warwick District Council’s waste collection teams will begin their rounds at 5am this week, with local people advised to put their waste bins out earlier than usual.

Residents are asked to put their refuse, recycling, garden and food waste bins and containers out the evening before their scheduled collection or no later than 5am on the morning of their collection.

Your Friday round up...

📣 We have been busy bees in the office this week putting plans in place for the Residents Annual Picnic in July! We will have a children's entertainer doing balloon magic, face-painting and..... we are delighted to announce we will be welcoming a fantastic three piece folk band headed up by Hamish Foxley, getting you all up dancing for a Ceilidh (no pressure we promise🕺😀).
📣 Last night Members welcomed representatives from both medical centres in the town and the Primary Care Network covering Kenilworth. This was a really productive briefing discussing capacity and development plans for the future, health emergencies, the electronic triage system and associated topics.
📣 Our Youth Council 'Senior Leadership Team' came into Jubilee House on Tuesday to meet with the Clerk and her Deputy. Some exciting plans were put into place for the Youth Council to become involved in the new skatepark project hosted by WDC, and for them to host a stand at the upcoming Teen Market taking place in Abbey Fields on 26 July 2026. The team are so enthusiastic and we would encourage you all to support them as they navigate their way!
📣 Our Mayor made the first of her visits to our Primary Schools this morning presenting our town theme for the year, celebrating community and 100 years of Kenilworth Carnival! We also handed out a bookmark to each child to represent the National Year of Reading!
📣 Our General Services Committee will shortly be considering a proposal to install a Memorial 'Letters to heaven' Postbox in Oaks Road Cemetery. We will keep you up to date with any plans as they develop.

Wishing everyone a relaxing sunny weekend!
