Baby Loss Awareness Week will end with a global ‘Wave of Light' 💙🩷

A special time where everyone can light a candle for 1 hour to remember all precious babies gone too soon.

This gives us a chance to come together at the same time to reflect and commemorate our much-loved babies.

Join us at 7pm on Thursday, 15 October. Light your candle and post on social media🕯️

Both are taking place simultaneously at Kenilworth Castle this evening (Thursday 15 October 2026) between 4pm and 8pm. Drop in anytime, grab a coffee and have a chat with representatives from English Heritage, the Town Council and WCC.

I spoke this evening at a meeting of the Planning Committee at WDC. Representing comments that were made at the Kenilworth Town Council more than 22months ago.
I asked that we resist the imposition of massive metal clad walled warehouse styled buildings, to the site behind me in the photo.
The site is just off the Thickthorn roundabout as you enter the Town of Kenilworth.
Thankfully the Committee to defer the decision, asking the developers for a better styled building to greet you on your way into Kenilworth.

I met today with Peri at Best Western Peacock Hotel - Kenilworth to hear how his hospitality business, is bringing people to Kenilworth as they visit our wonderful town. He is working hard to employ local residents and providing a welcoming, comfortable environment and a delicious menu!

Peri also explained that he is proud to be able to help families and individuals when they need emergency, short term housing. For example, when council housing needs emergency repairs a family may need to stay whilst work is being done.

It is sad to hear how being associated with a recent sad incident which DID NOT happen at the Peacock hotel, has led to a loss of business, and vile personal comments.

I want to say Thank you to Peacock Hotel - Kenilworth for working with WDC to help our residents when they are at their most vulnerable.

Yesterday I voted for LibDem policy. LibDems want Britain to be the safest place to have a baby and to rebuild our Health Visitor services to give every child the best start in life. That was a good way to spend the day!

Now, more than ever we need to support parents. The first 1001 days of a baby's life through pregnancy and their early years, they need parents who are mentally well and supported to care. Su***de awareness is important for babies and parents alike.

Have you got your caatle pass?

✨CASTLE PASS DROP IN SESSION✨

Due to the popularity of our recent Residents Castle Pass drop in surgery, we are putting on a couple more sessions before the seasons change. The first will be this Thursday 20 August 2026 between 10am and 1pm.

If you need a new Residents Castle Pass, are struggling with our online application process or would simply prefer to deal with someone face to face then pop along to Jubilee House (press option 2 for the Town Council followed by the call button) and we will do our very best to enable you to walk away with a pass.

Remember, you must pay your council tax precept to Kenilworth Town Council to qualify, please bring some photo ID with you and a cash payment of £6 per pass, the correct change would be very useful!

I was back in the Abbey Fields today for litter picking with Friends of Abbey Fields. Thank you to all the volunteers for their work to keep the fields tidy.
Some good news is that that the bridge is now open and the builders fencing is now down from the children's play area.

A beautiful day in Abbey Fields this week, but sad to have to report the flytipping. It was reassuring to talk with the Community Wardens and Neighbourhood Watch volunteer with lots of helpful information to keep our communitg safe in Anti-Social Behaviour prevention week.
