Happy Bank Holiday! ☀️

Our Let's Grow Together sessions are taking a break today, so there won't be an event at Ashton Park this afternoon.

We'll be back next Monday from 2–4pm with more nature activities, arts and crafts, seed growing and free refreshments. 🌱

Just a little reminder, in case you needed one today... 🩵

Starting again isn't something to be embarrassed about. Whether you've been out of work for six months or six years, want to improve your English, build your confidence or finally learn the digital skills you've been putting off, everyone starts somewhere.

We made the national news! 📺📚💗

We were incredibly excited to be invited onto ITV News to talk about Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library following the sad news of Dolly’s passing.

Our amazing Project Officer Louise represented CLP in her interview, talking about the difference the programme is making for families here in East Leeds 🥹📚

We are beyond honoured to be the first organisation in Leeds to bring Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library to local children, and seeing the programme recognised on national television was a very special moment for all of us.

Dolly created something truly incredible and we’re so proud to be carrying that work forward here in Leeds. ❤️

What a legacy Dolly Parton leaves behind 💗📚

In 1995, Dolly started sending books to children in her home county, inspired by her dad, who couldn’t read or write.

What started as a way to help children discover the joy of reading has grown into a global movement, reaching millions of children.

Last year, CLP became part of that mission, bringing Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library to families across East Leeds and helping children get the best possible start with reading 📒

Our hearts are incredibly sad today, but we’re more determined than ever to continue the work Dolly started.

We’ve already received some incredibly generous donations from people wanting to help us keep her mission going, including one from all the way over in America. 🩵

Community Learning Partnerships is looking for a Key Worker & Employer Liaison to join our team and help people facing barriers to work take their next steps towards sustainable employment.

This is a face-to-face role in Leeds, working directly with participants to build confidence, overcome barriers and prepare for employment, while also building relationships with employers and helping create the right opportunities.

📍 Shine, Harehills Road, Leeds
⏰ Minimum 21 hours per week
💷 £26,815–£28,462.50 full-time equivalent

You probably won't remember every book you read as a child.

But you'll probably remember the person who sat beside you while you read it. 📚🩵

That's what our Let's Read volunteers do. An hour each week. A child who needs a little encouragement. A quiet space to build confidence without pressure.

It isn't about being a teacher. It's about showing up, listening and helping a child realise they can do it.

We had such a lovely afternoon celebrating our Let’s Read volunteers! 📚🩵

Good food, plenty of cake, lots of stories and laughter, finished off with a good old-fashioned quiz. It was a lovely chance to get everyone together and celebrate the people who give their time each week to support children across Leeds with their reading.

We now have an amazing 80-strong team of volunteers, and we really can’t thank every single one of them enough for the difference they make. 🥰

Not every achievement comes with a certificate. 🩵

We celebrate the qualifications, the new jobs and the course completions. Of course we do. But some of the biggest wins never get framed or printed.

It's the parent who finally believes they're capable of going back to work.
The learner who walks into a classroom convinced they won't fit in, then leaves knowing they do.
The person who speaks English outside their home for the first time.
The confidence to send that job application instead of talking yourself out of it.
The conversation that turns into a friendship.

Those moments don't show up on a certificate, but they're often the ones that change someone's life. That's the impact we're proudest of.
