Are you aged 16-25 and not sure what your next step is?

Our Trailblazer programme offers free, personalised 1:1 support for young people in Leeds who are unemployed or economically inactive.

We can help with practical things like CVs, job searching and interview preparation, while also working with you on the personal barriers that might be making it harder to move forward.

You’ll get support based around your goals, your circumstances and what you’re ready for. We can also connect you with local training, education and job opportunities.

To be eligible, you must:
🫱🏼‍🫲🏽 Be aged 16-25
đź“Ť Live in Leeds
👉🏻 Be unemployed or economically inactive
đź“š Need support to move towards work or training

Your child could be eligible to receive a free book every month through Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.

We deliver the programme across LS8, LS9, LS14 and LS15, giving eligible children aged five and under a new, age-appropriate book delivered straight to their home every month until their fifth birthday. 📬📖

So if you live in one of these postcode areas, it’s worth checking whether your child can join.

Today is World Mental Health Day, but supporting people with their mental health isn’t something we only think about once a year.

Across our programmes, we recognise that your mental health can have a huge impact on things like confidence, learning, relationships and moving towards work.

That’s why mental health support is built into some of the programmes we offer. Sometimes having someone to talk to can be an important part of figuring out what comes next.

If you’re accessing support through one of our programmes and struggling with your mental health, please speak to your project worker about what support is available to you. 💙

That’s where our Healthy Working Life Supported Employment (HWLSE) programme can help.

You’ll get 1:1 support tailored around you, whether you’re looking for work or already employed and worried about losing your job.

You could be eligible if you:

Autumn is starting to show up at Nowell Mount. 🍂🌱

The days are getting a little shorter, the leaves are starting to change and there are already a few signs that the garden is moving into its next season.

Our Roots & Shoots volunteers have been busy making the most of the summer growing season and now we're starting to see what autumn has in store. 🥕🍂

“Just one more story?” 📚💗

It might feel like a tiny moment at the end of a busy day, but those little reading moments can stay with a child for years.

The favourite book they ask for again and again. The characters they get excited about. The moment they start recognising the words themselves.

This is the kind of love of reading Dolly Parton wanted to inspire when she started her Imagination Library in 1995, and it’s a legacy we’re incredibly proud to continue here in East Leeds.

Through the programme, eligible children can receive a free book every month until their 5th birthday, delivered straight to their home.

You'll have a motivational coach and access to an in-house counsellor who can help you build confidence, work through barriers and explore options like work, training or volunteering, without putting pressure on you to have everything figured out.

Sometimes you just need someone in your corner while you work it out. 🩵

And just like that, six years of community ABCD work has come to an end. 🩵

Yesterday, we came together at Nowell Mount to celebrate everything that has been over the past six years.

It was a lovely afternoon filled with familiar faces, conversations and plenty of memories. Most importantly, it was a chance to celebrate the people who have made it all happen and the difference that can be made when communities come together.

A huge thank you to everyone who has been part of the ABCD journey. We’ve loved being part of it.

Dolly believed in giving back, helping others and giving children the chance to dream big. That’s exactly what her Imagination Library continues to do.

Here in East Leeds, children aged five and under can receive a free, high-quality book every month through Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.

Today, we’re asking you to Give Like Dolly and help us keep those books coming. 💕
