This video demonstrates just how dangerous and difficult to extinguish lithium-ion battery fires can be.

Unlike conventional fires, lithium-ion batteries can enter a process called thermal runaway, causing intense heat, the release of toxic and flammable gases, and repeated reignition, even after the flames appear to have been extinguished.

I think I may be beginning to sound like a broken record, because, just when we thought all Christmassy donations must be in by now, we have had another couple of staggering days. There are so many ‘THANK YOUS’ to list this week. I truly hope no one has been overlooked because every donation, no matter how large or small is very gratefully received.
