One of HB Fire Protection’s recent projects involved extending the width of a partition wall to comply with GERDA test data for their 30-minute fire door installations. This task was particularly challenging as it took place in a residential care home for patients with special care needs. Although the wall already met the gypsum guidelines for a 30-minute partition, GERDA requested an additional 20mm to accommodate the specific doors they were installing.

This work represented a step beyond the routine passive fire protection projects we typically undertake. However, we often encounter fire doors being installed in structures that are incorrect or not fit for purpose, so this experience was a valuable one.

It is always a pleasure working alongside GERDA and their professional team. We are currently collaborating with them on a similar projects and look forward to continuing this successful partnership.
