RE: Catherton to Cleeton Pothole Update

We have been advised by the Shropshire Highways Manager that the works on the ditch, road etc will now be starting on Monday 22nd June 2026.

Notice to Residents from Hopton Court:

The residents of Hopton Court Estate would like to advise neighbours that a wedding celebration will be taking place on Saturday 11th July.
As part of the celebrations, the happy couple will be holding a short fireworks display at approximately 10.00pm.
We appreciate that loud noises can be distressing for some pets and would therefore like to give residents advance notice so that appropriate arrangements can be made if necessary.
Thank you for your understanding, and for helping us celebrate this special occasion within our community.

GUEST SPEAKER at HOPTON WAFERS PARISH COUNCIL MEETING 13th JULY 2026
A date for your diaries...
Seb Elwood a Senior Reserves Officer at Shropshire Wildlife Trust will be speaking at our next Parish Council meeting at Doddington Village Hall on Monday 13th July at 7pm.
Seb wants to work with communities around Catherton to see how we can best restore the Common for the benefit of everyone. He'll give a short introduction of his initial plans for the site, and would be happy to learn of any issues, comments and useful contacts for the area.

MESSAGE FROM HOPTON COURT

Orbit and Beardy Folk Festival at Hopton Court - Update for Hopton Wafers residents

As I am sure you are aware, we have two festivals planned during June at Hopton Court – Orbit and Beardy Folk.
We wanted to share an update to confirm that the organisers are taking measures to divert and guide festival traffic away from the village.
On the first day of Beardy Folk, which is expected to be the busiest, there will also be someone positioned in the village to redirect any drivers who try to come through.
I do understand that this may not prevent every vehicle from coming through the village, but I hope these extra steps will help reduce disruption and make things a little easier for residents.

Earls Ditton Lane resurfaced!!
After many years of back and forth with Shropshire Highways the lane was finally fully resurfaced last week and a great job was made of it!
