💙 Father’s Day is about more than just being a dad.

Today we celebrate the incredible male foster carers across Oxfordshire — the people who provide care, guidance and stability to children and young people when they have needed it most.

You may not always see the full impact of what you do, but the everyday moments of support, encouragement and understanding can leave a lasting impression on a young person’s life.

Did you know? 💛

Earlier this year, Oxfordshire County Council launched a Fostering Friendly Policy to support staff who foster or are considering fostering.

Fostering is incredibly rewarding but comes with responsibilities. This policy makes it easier for OCC employees to open their homes by providing understanding, flexibility and practical support alongside their roles.

By building a more fostering-friendly workplace, we’re helping more children and young people in Oxfordshire grow up in safe, supportive and loving homes.

🌈 Pride is more than just a moment to celebrate diversity this month — it’s a reminder of the difference that understanding, acceptance, and belonging can make.

In Oxfordshire, we’re proud of our diverse community of foster carers, including LGBTQ+ carers and allies who provide inclusive, supportive homes where young people can truly thrive.

🌈💛 This Pride Month, we’re recognising what truly makes a family: love, acceptance and being yourself.

We’ll be at Oxford Pride this Saturday (6 June), celebrating with the community and showing our support.

We’re proud to champion diversity and inclusion in fostering. Our foster carers come from all backgrounds, including LGBTQ+ communities, helping children feel safe, accepted and valued for who they are.

We’d love to see you there — because what matters most isn’t who you are, but the care, stability and support you can offer a child.

Foster Care Fortnight really was a team effort!

We want to say a big thank you to everyone who got involved — from those who supported events to those who helped spread the word, even while braving all kinds of weather.

Your support makes a real difference for children and young people across the county, and we’re so grateful to have such a dedicated community behind us.
