📣The New Awaab’s Law – What You Need To Know ⚖️

📌Awaab’s Law is a new law that came into force in Scotland on Tuesday 6 October 2026.

ℹ️This law requires all social landlords to:

👉Investigate reports of damp and mould in their tenants’ homes
👉Identify the cause and carry out any repairs required within fixed timeframes
👉Ensure, as far as possible, tenants’ homes remain substantially free from damp and mould.

East Ayrshire Council is a social landlord. It is important that you understand your rights and the Council’s responsibilities under Awaab’s Law.

📌 East Ayrshire Council are launching a new way for communities to work with them and other organisations so that they can plan and deliver better services locally for everyone in East Ayrshire.

💬 These new planning and engagement groups will bring more people together to explore how we can all help to improve services so that people’s lives are better through an approach called locality planning. 🤝

💙 East Ayrshire Council will be looking at services that involve:

Health
Social work
Wellbeing
Community care
Housing
Education
Community justice

We are consulting on proposed parking restrictions designed to help:

• reduce inappropriate parking
• maintain access for residents and emergency services

• support safer movement around the area on match days
