It’s always one of the best days in Kilmarnock, with runners, supporters and the whole community coming together to cheer each other on and enjoy the atmosphere. This year is even more exciting as the event celebrates its 10th anniversary 🎉

Whether you’re running, watching from the sidelines or just out enjoying the buzz, we hope you have a brilliant day.

We’re considering changes to our policy on accessing adult social care services – and we want to know your thoughts. 👩🏻‍🦰👨🏻👵🏽👴🏻

We currently follow the Scottish Government’s National Eligibility Framework’s four risk categories. These help us to identify which service users are most in need of our help.

With national rising costs and an ageing population, our services are in even higher demand, meaning we must prioritise support to service users most in need.

Our proposed changes to adult social care would mean that services are provided only to individuals whose needs are assessed as critical.

We invite you to participate in our consultation to help us gain a fuller understanding of how this proposed change may impact you.

Your views will also help us to identify alternative approaches that may help minimise these impacts and support the wellbeing and rights of everyone in East Ayrshire.

Take a look at the Lace and Town Crest mural in Newmilns this weekend. 🖼️

It’s located at 133 Main Street, beside Lady Flora’s Institute, and was completed in August last year by local artists Frank and Mandy Carty.

The mural design is inspired by a 1936 MYB Textiles pattern 'Lydia’ and features the town crest with the motto 'Weave Truth with Trust'.

🌟 Real change happening across Cumnock and the Doon Valley 🌟

Council Cabinet members have been out visiting some of the brilliant projects delivered through the Coalfield Communities Landscape Partnership and the difference is clear to see.

From community hubs and new walking routes to cycling facilities, green spaces and local history projects, £6.5 million has been invested in 22 different projects to help transform areas once affected by the loss of the mining industry, with support from the National Lottery Heritage Fund, Scottish Government, East Ayrshire Council and partners.

The visit included Ochiltree Community Hub, Lugar Water Walk, Lugar Heritage Centre Lost Villages exhibition at the Boswell Centre, Tower Street Pocket Park, Netherthird Community Garden, the Doon Valley inclusive cycling project, and the Doon Valley Railway, with each project showing what can be achieved when communities come together.

There’s a real sense of pride in these communities with more opportunities for people to get active, learn and enjoy their local area.

An update below from Sanquhar II Wind Farm regarding the delivery of blades through the Cumnock and New Cumnock area 👇

Blade lifter deliveries are scheduled to begin on Monday 8th June.

The convoy is due to depart from the transfer area north of New Cumnock at 9:30am, before travelling through New Cumnock along the A76 towards Kirkconnel.

The convoy will then turn right down the C125n and travel to the site entrance. Please be aware that delivery schedules may change at short notice due to weather conditions.

We'll share any updates and a live tracking link on this page, and via our WhatsApp channel, on Monday morning.

Further delivery dates will be confirmed in due course.
