We have been listening to ongoing concerns from local residents about the illegal and anti-social use of off-road e-bikes and e-scooters in our communities. In response, officers from Kilmarnock Locality Policing team have implemented a Directed Action Plan during July focused on targeted patrols, enforcement, intelligence gathering and partnership working. We can now provide an update on the work carried out so far:
4 off-road e-bikes/e-scooters/ cars seized
3 people charged with traffic offences
Increased targeted patrols and enforcement activity in areas identified through community concerns and intelligence.
Continued work with internal and external partners to identify longer-term solutions and address the wider issues surrounding the use of these vehicles.

We will continue to use information provided by local residents to direct our resources and target those responsible for dangerous, unlawful or anti-social behaviour, this activity is ongoing.
We understand the impact this type of activity can have on communities, particularly where residents feel intimidated or where vehicles are being ridden dangerously on roads, footpaths and other public areas. We continue to need your help. If you have information about individuals, vehicles, locations or times associated with this type of behaviour, please report it through Police Scotland’s 101/999 or ‘Contact us’ function, through contacting either your local Councillor or anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. We will continue to listen, respond and take action to keep our communities safe.’
