📚 Have Your Say on Proposed School Holiday Changes for 2027/28

East Ayrshire Council is consulting on four options for the 2027/28 school calendar, with proposed changes to the October break, Christmas holidays and summer holiday period.

The options vary in how holiday time is spread throughout the year.

We’ve created this simple guide to help families compare the options at a glance.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Parents, carers, pupils, staff and members of the community are encouraged to take part in the consultation and share their views before a final decision is made.

🌈 **Colour Run 2026** 🌈

A huge thank you to all the families who have sponsored pupils at Onthank for our Colour Run 2026. We are absolutely overwhelmed by your generosity and support!

We are still receiving some sponsorship money, but to allow us time to process everything and submit our total to Cash for Kids, could we please ask that all outstanding money is returned by 𝐓𝐡𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐝𝐚𝐲 at the very latest.

Good luck to everyone taking part in Roon The Toon today! 💙

It’s always one of the best days in Kilmarnock, with runners, supporters and the whole community coming together to cheer each other on and enjoy the atmosphere. This year is even more exciting as the event celebrates its 10th anniversary 🎉

Whether you’re running, watching from the sidelines or just out enjoying the buzz, we hope you have a brilliant day.

And if you are heading along, make sure to give the runners a big cheer. It really does make a difference 👏

🌈 Colour Run Reminder! 🌈

Just a reminder that all Colour Run sponsorship money should be returned tomorrow, either by cash or via ParentPay.

We are incredibly grateful for all of your support and generosity. We know there has been a big push for Cash for Kids throughout June, but please remember that you are under no obligation to give more than you are able.

Every contribution, no matter the size, is truly appreciated, and all activities are open to all children, regardless of a contribution. ❤️

⚠️ IMPORTANT: Please ensure you complete the Colour Run waiver that was sent out. Unfortunately, children cannot take part without a completed waiver.

🎉 Hopefully by now you’ll have seen that we’re finalists in the Cash for Kids Fundraising Challenge! 🎉

If we finish as the top local school, we’ll receive an incredible bonus of **£3,000** for our school, but we can’t do it without your support.

All money raised through our Colour Run sponsorship and P7 Fun Day will count towards our total, but we can also accept donations through the link below.

👇 Please donate if you can and, just as importantly, share this post far and wide to help us get over the line! You could even tag any local businesses that could organise a sponsorship event for us or allow us a collection tin!

We have until 15th June to raise as much as possible!

This year has already been a fantastic one for our school. We’ve celebrated success in both sports and quizzing, and with a community as strong and supportive as ours, there’s no reason we can’t win this too!
