🎉 Happy New Year everyone! 🎉

We’re pleased to let you know that the Youth Centre is reopening today.

For the interim, sessions will run as follows:

📅 Wednesdays
➡️ Young people aged 10 (School Year 6) to School Year 8

📅 Thursdays
➡️ Generic open session – all ages welcome

These arrangements are temporary, and we’ll share updates as things progress.

📣 Quick Update

This Friday, 12th December 2025, will be my last day working as the full-time Youth Worker at Kimberley Young People’s Centre the centre isn’t going anywhere, I’m just moving on from my role.

If anyone wants to pop in before I finish, feel free. It would be good to catch up, say bye properly, and hear any stories or memories you’ve got from your time at the centre.

Thank you to everyone I’ve had the chance to work with. It’s been a privilege to be part of your journeys.

After 10 years at Kimberley Young People’s Centre, it’s time for me to move on. I want to express my appreciation to all the young people past and present who have come through the doors and made the space what it is. It’s been a privilege to support you, learn alongside you, and watch so many of you grow into confident, capable young people.

To the families, partners, and the wider Kimberley community thank you for the support you’ve shown over the years. This community has played a huge part in creating a safe, positive environment for young people, and I’m grateful to have been a small part of that.

I’ll be out with the team at the Kimberley Light Switch-On, so if you’re around, please come over and say hi it would mean a lot.

Thank you for the memories, the trust, and the journey. Kimberley will always have a special place in my heart. 💛-Irfaan (Smurf)

Just a quick heads up the Young People’s Centre will be closed today due to staff sickness.
It’s not what we hoped for, but we need to make sure everyone is safe and supported properly.

Thank you for your understanding and patience. We’ll keep you updated and let you know as soon as we’re able to reopen.

Really proud moment seeing Toby representing Broxtowe at Youth Parliament last week 👏
Feels like just yesterday he was coming along to sessions at the centre now he’s standing up in the House of Commons, using his voice to make a difference for young people. That’s what youth work is all about! 💪

🌳 On Thursday, Members of Youth Parliament from Nottinghamshire travelled to the House of Commons to take part in a national debate, focusing on the issues that matter most to them, including health, employment, housing, crime, and climate change .

They spoke with confidence and clarity, and shared their lived experiences and ideas for change, alongside Members of Youth Parliament from across the country.

🌟 Shadow 2025 – Orientation Success! 🌟

What a fantastic start to the journey! Our Shadow 2025 Orientation Event went brilliantly — a big shoutout to Team Kimberley WotWots and, of course, On Point Team Kimberley for putting in such amazing effort. 💪

You all absolutely smashed it — making new friends, learning new skills, stepping out of your comfort zones, and most importantly… having fun! 🎉
