Did you know some common pet flea treatments can have a harmful impact on rivers, wetlands and aquatic wildlife?
As a member of the Broads Biodiversity Partnership, the Water Management Alliance is supporting the Broads Authority campaign helping to raise awareness of how spot-on flea and tick treatments can affect water quality across the Broads and beyond.
Small changes can make a big difference in protecting our waterways and the species that depend on them.

🐍 A safe move for one of our slitheriest site visitors!

Before construction got underway on ’s Benacre & Kessingland Flood Management Project, one of our first priorities was protecting the wildlife that calls this area home—including reptiles like this grass snake.

Our specialist ecologists placed temporary “refuge pads” across the site, creating warm, sheltered spots that reptiles naturally gravitate towards. These were checked daily, and any reptiles found were carefully and safely relocated to nearby suitable habitats.

By taking these steps early on, we’re making sure vital flood protection work goes hand-in-hand with caring for the environment. 🌿

It’s all part of our ongoing commitment to protect and enhance the natural surroundings while delivering the project safely.
