Your local library has something for everyone and it’s free to join. When you join, you can use any Norfolk Library to:
• Borrow up to 15 books for free, for up to 3 weeks at a time
• Borrow the latest DS, Wii & Playstation games at affordable hire fees
• Borrow the latest DVDs at affordable hire fees.. • Borrow the latest CDs (not all libraries) at affordable hire fees
• Return all of the above to any library in Norfolk
• Download ebooks from the Norfolk Digital Library – up to 6 at a time, for a maximum of 3 weeks
• Request books online
• Renew books online
• Bring your children to Bookstart Bounce & Rhymes & other events
• Use our PCs – office software, email and the internet are all free
• Access study material
• Research local history
• Access business information (not all libraries)

🕵️🔎 Murder in the Library... and we need your help to solve it! 🔎🕵️

Step into a world of secrets, suspects and suspense at King's Lynn Library on Saturday 14 November, 4.30pm-6.30pm, for an immersive murder mystery experience from Dreamstone Productions

When Inspector Biro arrives at a shocking crime scene, one of the library staff appears to have met a grim end. But whodunnit? Follow the clues, interrogate the suspects and unravel the mystery as you move through different areas of the library in this unique promenade performance.

Join Sophie Fox from early years-specialists Magic Acorns, for a morning of creative play and sensory exploration for babies and very young children.

She will bring different objects and everyday materials as well as lots of carboard boxes to create a wonderful and magical play space together.

Theory Test Pro is a highly realistic simulation of the UK driving theory test. It contains the official practice test question bank, hazard perception video clips and an online version of the Highway Code. Norfolk library members can access Theory Test Pro for free from a library computer, and remotely through the Theory Test Pro App.

As it is Heritage Weekend 11th September to 20th September here is a story from the old library to the new library

🐉✨ Meet Stanley the Dragon! ✨🐉

Did you know that high up in the turret of the old King's Lynn Library lived a very special dragon?

Meet Stanley, the Guardian of the Stanley Collection. For over 120 years, this golden dragon has watched over the library's precious collection of rare books, making sure every story stays safe and every page is cared for. 📚💛

By day, Stanley appears as a cuddly knitted dragon sitting quietly among the books. But when the library closes and the moonlight shines through the windows, he transforms back into his true dragon self and begins his important work!

And then, one day, something very exciting happened. The library moved to a brand-new home in the heart of King’s Lynn.

Boxes were packed. Shelves were carefully emptied. Books were carried, one by one, to their new home. Stanley watched it all from his shelf, his golden knitted scales giving an occasional little shimmer.

At first, he wasn’t quite sure what to think. After more than one hundred and twenty years in his old library, moving somewhere new felt like a very big adventure indeed.

But Stanley soon discovered that the new library was full of wonderful things.

There were new shelves to explore, new corners to hide in, new people, new children discovering stories for the very first time — and, most importantly, the Stanley Collection had come too.

His new home might not have a tall, pointy turret, but it had something even better: a whole new library full of people who loved books.

If you're lucky, you might just spot a flick of a golden tail or a shimmer of green spikes in the light... 👀✨
