Forward King's Lynn Forward is a local registered charity and company limited by guarantee supporting approximately 120 people (members) with learning disabilitities.

Forward is an independent, local registered charity and company limited by guarantee supporting approximately 120 people (members) with learning disabilities and challenging behaviours, in King’s Lynn and West Norfolk. We were established in 1982 by a group of parents who wanted to provide outings for their disabled adult children and have grown from these small roots. We now have 42 members of staff, 8 volunteers and 6 trustees. Our aim is for everybody to progress, be included in their local community and engage in meaningful activities of their choice. Our programmes include sensory integration, health and fitness, communication, horticulture, hobbies, advocacy, independent living skills and supporting people towards employment. We have an Enterprise Zone which is dedicated to supporting members to develop work skills. Activities include a t-shirt printing project, making jewellery, candles, cards and wood products. We feel we offer a unique service in Norfolk.

🍝👩‍🍳 Last Friday, our Cooking Group made a delicious BBQ Chicken & Bacon pasta dish, packed with vegetables — many of which were grown right here in our courtyard! 🌱🥕🫑

Each week, members take turns choosing a meal they would like to cook. Everyone then gets involved in the preparation, cooking, and, of course, the cleaning up afterwards! 🧑‍🍳✨

It’s a fantastic way to build independence, teamwork, and valuable life skills, while enjoying a tasty meal made by our members. ❤️

They had the chance to learn about fossils and have a go at creating their own fossil prints using clay. A fun, hands-on activity combining creativity, history, and a little bit of prehistoric discovery! 🦕🌿

A couple of weeks ago we were invited to see some wild baby owls that had hatched in one of the many owl boxes that our members at Ezone had produced. It was such an honour to be able to see them and a massive thank you to Julian for letting us be part of it all!

Our pottery group has been busy creating some fantastic pieces! 🎨🫶
George has crafted a beautiful fruit bowl, while Chris helped create this lovely vase as part of a collaborative project involving everyone in the group. It's wonderful to see everyone's creativity, teamwork, and confidence shining through.
We've also included a sneak peek of some of the handmade items that will soon be available in the Shop at 33 – keep an eye out for them! 👀🏺
