๐Ÿšจ Update ๐Ÿšจ

๐Ÿ‘‰ Our contractor will be on site from Friday to Sunday to top and Flail the area

๐ŸŒฟ NOTICE โ€“ SOVEREIGN GRANGE BOUNDARY WORKS ๐ŸŒฟ

Kingโ€™s Cliffe Parish Council would like to inform residents that vegetation management works will be taking place this Friday morning along the Parish Council land adjoining Sovereign Grange on Oak Lane Common (land north of SG).

The Parish Council has been closely monitoring the condition of the land during the prolonged period of dry weather and has recognised the heightened fire risk posed by the exceptionally dry vegetation, particularly given its proximity to neighbouring properties.

As a precautionary measure, a contractor has therefore been instructed to flail a 10-metre-wide strip along the Sovereign Grange boundary to help reduce that risk.

Although we have now finally seen some welcome rain, these works could not safely have been undertaken during the driest period, as the use of machinery on exceptionally dry vegetation itself carried an increased risk of starting a fire. The recent change in conditions now provides a safer opportunity for the contractor to carry out the work.

We are also aware that some residents living alongside the boundary have raised similar concerns, which reflects the Parish Councilโ€™s own assessment of the current conditions and the need for precautionary action.

These works are being undertaken as an interim safety measure while the Parish Council continues to finalise the documentation required for the wider planned works to commence.

The contractor will be on site on Friday morning, and residents may therefore notice machinery operating along the boundary during this time.

We apologise for any temporary noise or disturbance caused and thank residents for their understanding while this important precautionary work is carried out.

If you have any questions, please email: [email protected]

๐Ÿšฎ Overflowing bins โ€“ West Street & Church Walk

Kings Cliffe Parish Council is continuing to press NNC to increase the frequency of collections for the bins on West Street and Church Walk.

We completely agree with residents that scenes like this are not acceptable. Bins should not be left overflowing, and we have again asked NNC to move these locations onto a weekly collection schedule.

However, we would also ask everyone to please help us in the meantime.

If a bin is already full, please do not leave rubbish on the ground around it or continue pushing waste into an already overflowing bin. This quickly creates the kind of mess shown in the photograph, with litter spreading across the pavement and surrounding area.

Where a bin is full, please take your litter home and dispose of it there.

Overflowing rubbish is not only unsightly; it can attract vermin and pests and can create hazards from food waste, cans, bottles and broken glass.

We will continue to push NNC for a better and more frequent collection service, but we also need everyoneโ€™s help to keep Kings Cliffe clean and tidy.

Thank you for doing your bit. โ™ป๏ธ
