🚶 Work to install two new parallel crossings in east Hull will begin next week, improving safety and accessibility for pedestrians and cyclists.

The crossings will be installed on Marfleet Lane and Midmere Avenue as part of our ongoing commitment to creating safer roads and encouraging active travel across the city.

⚠Traffic and travel update

Stockholm Road will be closed to traffic from 6pm tonight (28 August) until Sunday evening (30 August) for emergency carriageway repair works outside the council depot.

Access to businesses will be maintained, and a diversion route will be in place via Holwell Road and Sutton Road.

The next phase of a major scheme to restore two lanes of traffic in each direction on Freetown Way as well as provide new off-road cycling facilities will get underway in September.

Hull City Council has appointed local contractor PBS Construction Limited to work on the section of the scheme from the east of Blundell’s Corner up to, and including, the junction with Wright Street.
