Statement from Hull Conservatives following recent events:

We strongly condemn the recent violent riots that have taken place, across the country and most appallingly here in Hull. Such actions only serve to harm our communities and undermine the values of peace and respect that we must always hold dear. These incidents, which dishonor the loss of three children in Southport, will not be tolerated. Violence is never the answer and we must all come together to find constructive and peaceful solutions to our differences. Hull has always been a very proud and culturally diverse city, which the residents have always been proud of, our status as City of Culture in 2017 will always be a great reminder of that heritage and history. Our thoughts are with those affected, and we urge everyone to work towards unity and understanding, so that our community can continue to thrive.

It was great to have a visit from the conservative party chairman Richard Holden MP tonight, Richard discussed the campaign with our team and continued his support for our parliamentary candidate Rachel Storer for Hull West & Haltemprice.

I would like to give a big vote of thanks to all the officers from the four local authorities for conducting a first rate election process and count.
Massive thanks to all those who have helped in the election campaign, you have worked very hard to make this all possible and in the coming days I will thank you all personally. To those people who voted for me, it is deeply humbling and you have my gratitude.
The work starts again and I am eager to get back to it.

A massive well done to Jonathan Evison, our local Police and Crime Commissioner on his re-election today (the first ever incumbent Humberside Police and Crime Commissioner to win a second term of office) - I am confident over the next four years he will continue to deliver more police and safer streets for our local communities, rural and urban 😊
