👦 Does your child start secondary school next year?

From September 1, parents of children starting their last year of primary school will be invited to apply for a secondary school place for September 2027.

Parents must apply between 1 September and 31 October this year.

🚧 Travel update:

Due to safety reasons, part of the Trans Pennine Trail from the junction of Wellington Street West and a point adjacent to Dunston’s Shipyard has been closed by ABP.

We are working with ABP to discuss how the safety concerns can be rectified as soon as possible. In the meantime, diversion routes are being put in place. Thank you for your patience.

We are continuing to warn residents to dispose of their waste legally to avoid a criminal record.🗑️ 🚮

The warning follows eight recent fly-tipping prosecutions. These individuals were ordered to pay a combined total of £10,095 in fines and costs to the council and received criminal records.
