We had a visit on Monday from
The Victory Don Lodge R.A.O.B.
Hull Buffalos.
They kindly chose us as one of their charitable causes to support this year.
Here is Philip Birch, Mike Love and Bob Scott presenting me with an amazing cheque for £500! 🎉

£500 would cover a months food bills, or 2/3 of our winter heating in the rescue, or towards upgrading our rescue centre and equipment.

HUGE THANK YOU to all of the Hull Buffalos that made this possible.
We are so very grateful to you all X❤️🦔

Why I answer the phone at night…
Ninja’s finder messaged “Thank you for taking ninja when others didn't. Appreciate what you're doing”

Mabel, Ninja, Thornton and Belle arrived over the weekend.

Mabel from Gainsborough was seen running up a road in daylight.
Ninja from Kingswood was seen dragging her left hind foot and will be having a leg amputation on Thursday.
Thornton & Belle are siblings with a long story. They are very small, so we will worm and fatten them before returning to their support feeding garden in Little Norton.

If you would like to follow their progress, please join our subscription group for 99p per month.
Other ways to assist us, are also found in the other link provided in the comments. Thank you X❤️🦔

OCTOBER - NOVEMBER

Celebrating can be dangerous for our wildlife. Have fun but think how you can avoid wildlife injury.

The end of October is Halloween and straight into November is bonfire night. Please avoid fake webs on hedgerows, they entangle birds and insect life and if eaten are toxic. Avoid netting or stringy items too that hedgehogs and other wildlife can become entangled in.

Keep pumpkins off the ground because although hedgehogs enjoy eating them, too much may result in sickness and death. When disposing of Pumpkins, please hang them in trees or at least 2ft off the ground. Try to keep lights to a minimum as these cause distress and disorientation to night flyers.

NOVEMBER brings bonfire night.

PLEASE build your bonfire on the day to avoid burning wildlife alive- hedgehogs rarely run from danger, they curl into a ball. If you have a pile for burning, move it carefully to its burning area on the day to set fire to it. A pile of wood and twigs is a perfect hibernaculum for wildlife and you don’t want your party ruined by animals burning alive within.

Please ensure you wet down the embers too so to prevent fire spread, pets and wildlife paws getting burnt.
Fireworks terrify many animals and wildlife and also our Veterans, please keep them to a minimum and only on Nov 5th, quieter the better.

BE SAFE while you have fun.
