They do good work, and they deserve backing.

Labour were ready to put fuel duty up.

Now they look set to back down after pressure from drivers, campaigners and Conservatives.

Good.

Driving is not a luxury in Beverley and Holderness. It is how people get to work, school, appointments and local businesses.

I’ll keep making sure our area has a voice at the national level.

Parents and grandparents are telling me the same thing.

Their children are paying their student loans every month.
Yet the balance keeps rising.

That is not fair.

I have launched a petition to cap student loan interest at inflation. Not inflation plus 3 per cent. Inflation, and no higher.

Amazing to have Hull University Conservative AssociationHull East, North & Cottingham Conservative Association and of course Rob. Coming from across the bridge thankfully didn’t forget his passport.

It was great start to the day hearing from residents in Sutton and I look forward to hearing more as we make our way through the year.
