❗Exercise Activity Notice: Lossiemouth & Kinloss ❗

From the 5th of October, Team Lossie will be putting our people and processes to the test during a week-long exercise. This exercise will take place at both RAF Lossiemouth and Kinloss Barracks.

If you live near either site, you may hear blank firing, see a blue-light presence, or notice increased aircraft and road movements between Lossiemouth and Kinloss. Drones users are reminded that UAS flights should not to be operated near either site without prior permission.

This is planned activity to practice and stress-test our responses to a range of scenarios within, and outwith, our perimeter.

We are grateful to the local community for their continued support. Training today helps ensure a resilient and ready force for tomorrow. 🇬🇧

⚠ Flying Notice ⚠

From the 5th of October, several aircraft from RAF Lossiemouth will be operating from Kinloss Barracks as part of Exercise Agile Owl.

For our neighbours in Kinloss, this will mean increased aircraft movements, as well as aircraft flying lower than usual during take-off and landing.

Thank you for your continued support as we train to ensure we are always ready to secure your skies.

Exercise Activity Notification

Please be advised that exercise activity will take place at Kinloss Barracks between 26 September and 11 October.
Flying activity is scheduled for 5–9th October, with other exercise activity, including the firing of blank am******on, taking place throughout the duration of the exercise.

Before Lt Col Walker departs Kinloss for the final time, the Regiment came together for his last PT session. The morning featured partner exercises and combat conditioning, designed to build resilience, determination, and the mindset to never give up. It was a demanding but enjoyable session that embodied the values and standards he has consistently championed throughout his time with the unit.

Following PT, the Regiment’s senior members gathered for an enhanced Tea & Toast, where the ougoing CO was presented with a commemorative gift from the Officers’ Mess and the WO & Sgts’ Mess. It was a fitting opportunity to thank him for his leadership, dedication, and service, and to wish him every success in the future.

A change of command for 39 Engineer Regiment as Lt Col Walker hands over to Lt Col Gledhill.

We wish Lt Col Walker all the best for the future and Lt Col Gledhill every success in command.

The commanding officer transferred authority to his successor while the unit is deployed on a peacekeeping mission in Cyprus
