Look out for Ospreys flying and hunting around Loch Leven. They need to eat 2-6 fish per day depending on their size and can dive into the water from heights of up to 70 meters! We see them all throughout the summer, but from August numbers start to rise and there can be over 20 here on one day! By the end of September they will migrate to west Africa where they spend the winter.

Did you know that August is the best month to see Osprey here? This morning we had five Osprey seen at the reserve, and in previous years we've seen over ten in one day!

If you're visiting, make sure to keep an eye out for them perching on fence posts or flying overhead.
