Well done to Kirkcaldy Leisure Centre customer Ronald Muir. 🏃

So far, he’s raised more than £1400 for Cancer Research UK by running in the 2026 Scottish 10K race in Musselburgh. His target was £1000.

Ronald started training at Kirkcaldy Leisure Centre. He also did regular jogging sessions along the prom to prepare for the big race.

He said the money raised “will help CRUK with their critical work in the search for new ways of preventing, detecting and treating cancer”.

Well done, Ron. And well done to everyone who supported his fundraising efforts. 🎉

If your charity, club or community group can help more children and young people get active in Fife this is a fantastic opportunity to bring free or low-cost activities to our communities. 🏃‍♀️🏀
This is all about getting more of our children and young people active over the coming months and into early 2027.
Funding can be used for a range of activities and initiatives, such as coaching programmes, holiday activities, community sports events, equipment and facility hire.
Grants are available thanks to a partnership between Fife Council and sportscotland. We’re seeking to support local organisations that can:
• Get more children and young people active
• Create opportunities for those aged 3-26
• Reduce barriers such as cost, transport and access
