Parents and carers across Scotland have been given a major helping hand with the release of a comprehensive 2026 family days out guide featuring hundreds of attractions, parks, museums, beaches and activity centres across every Scottish council area.
The updated guide has been organised by local authority, making it easier than ever for families to discover nearby adventures, whether they’re looking for free activities, rainy-day entertainment, accessible attractions or dog-friendly destinations.
Using simple symbols, the guide highlights whether attractions are free to enter, require payment, are ideal for sunny or rainy weather, welcome dogs, are wheelchair accessible, or are newly added for 2026.
Among the latest additions are several exciting attractions including Dundee’s McManus Art Gallery & Museum, Verdant Works, HMS Unicorn and Dundee Museum of Transport, Glasgow’s Inflata Nation, Edinburgh’s Lost Shore Surf Resort, Dumfries and Galloway’s Opal Alpacas, and Go Ape Aberfoyle in Stirling.
