Thought about volunteering in your community but not sure where to start? 🤔

Community Learning & Development Orkney's six-week Get Ready to Volunteer programme gives you the information and contacts to kickstart your volunteering journey!

Over the six weeks you'll explore what volunteering could do for you, discover local support and opportunities, learn what's involved in being a volunteer, meet organisations already looking for helpers, and take part in a group volunteering session together.

Sessions run every Wednesday from 9 September to 14 October, 1 to 2.30pm, at The Hub Orkney.

To sign up, get in touch with [email protected].

📞 The UK's landlines are switching to digital by January 2027, and around 2,000 Orkney lines still need to make the change.

Your provider will contact you before your line is switched - for most people the switch is as simple as plugging your phone into your broadband router instead of the wall socket.

If you have a telecare alarm or health device connected to your phone line, contact our Telecare Team on 01856 873535 extension 2635.
