Shout out to Orkney businesses!

We’d love to hear if you would be willing and able to support Orkney’s unpaid carers 😁

With Carers Week just around the corner, we are exploring the options available to us and our unpaid carers to give them opportunities for fun and relaxation, new experience’s and most importantly a break from their caring role.

If this is something you would be willing to discuss please get in touch with Sheila on 870500.

Thank you in advance.

This year’s theme is Building Carer Friendly Communities. From 8-14 June we’ll be highlighting the impact carer friendly communities can have in making a real and lasting difference to the lives of carers everywhere.

Carer friendly communities are places, spaces, services and community groups where unpaid carers are recognised, understood, and valued. They make support part of everyday life ensuring carers get the opportunities and help they need.

Together let's build communities that support carers in every area of their lives.

Hi folks - we are looking for accommodation for a member of staff joining us soon.

This person will be taking on the role of Carers Lead. They will be at the forefront of important work to support unpaid carers, those folk who provide care and support to family members, friends and neighbours because of illness, frailty, or a disability.

Most importantly, this will involve promoting the support services available to unpaid carers, as well as ensuring that unpaid carers are considered in every aspect of health and social care service planning.

They are ideally looking for a rental property with up to three-bedrooms – one or two is fine, too – ideally in Kirkwall, but all areas would be considered.

If you can help, please drop an email to [email protected]
