As the warm weather continues our crew spent last night assisting other stations with the ongoing incident at Stapleford Wood and got these shots while in action.

This evening we had a visit from Chief Fire Officer Mark Baxter to present Firefighter Darran Rowett with his Cheif Fire Officers Commendation in recognition for his actions at a road traffic collision whilst off duty during the hours of his primary employment.

The quick thinking of Firefighter Rowett ensured that the person involved was given the best chance when handed over to East Midlands Ambulance Service.

These actions are a true reflection of the dedication and commitment of Firefighter Rowett who demonstrated professionalism to the highest standards. This also shows the high levels of training our firefighters receive which can then be put into action even when off duty should we need to.

Congratulations Darran on your Commendation fully deserved.

It has been an incredibly busy few weeks at the station, and our new recruits haven't missed a beat—they've got stuck straight in from day one, proving they are a fantastic addition to the team!
