The overwhelming majority of dog owners clean after their dogs. For the few who don’t Cheshire East Council has posted these reminders on posts around the village. As well as being anti-social behaviour it is an offence for which they can be given a fixed penalty fine.

Information from Cheshire East Council encouraging us to be more active. Good advice!

It is never too late to get active.

The updated UK Chief Medical Officers' physical activity guidelines show that any level of activity is linked to health benefits, helping to improve sleep, manage stress, maintain a healthy weight and support overall wellbeing.

For adults, aiming for 150 minutes of moderate activity each week, or 75 minutes of vigorous activity, can make a real difference. Building strength at least twice a week and reducing long periods of sitting can support healthier, more independent ageing.

✅ Start small
✅ Move more every day
✅ Every minute counts

Download and share the new infographics to help more people understand how moving more, sitting less and building strength can benefit health and wellbeing.

Families can also explore with Joe Wicks, while adults looking to build activity into their routine can try the free NHS Active 10 and NHS Couch to 5K apps.

An important contribution from Cheshire Wildlife Trust to the discussion about the Peak Cluster Ltd pipeline proposal. They say “the evidence suggests that CCS is not the best solution for CO2 emissions but that nature-based solutions are.” and the proposal could be “ a huge price to pay for what is a temporary solution to climate change.” They ask us all to “stand up for nature”. Gawsworth will be amongst the most affected with the pipeline running the length of the Parish. The Parish Council is finalising our own environmental impact paper. More news soon.

We have launched a webpage where we will be sharing our responses to the public consultation on the Peak Cluster CCS pipeline.
