Led by your guide, you'll wander through historic streets, encounter mysterious figures from the village's past and hear chilling tales that bring New Lanark's history to life. Expect ghostly encounters, unexpected frights and a special Halloween edition of the much-loved Annie McLeod Experience.

Something wicked is coming to New Lanark this October... 👻

Weaving Workshop at New Lanark! 🧶

Join us for a day of creativity in the heart of New Lanark’s textile history with resident weaver Abigail! You’ll learn about the history of weaving at New Lanark, explore traditional weaving techniques and have a shot of our newly restored weaving loom – all in the company of fellow friendly crafters. You’ll even enjoy a cup of tea and slice of cake while you work!

From the archives... Graduation day... 🎓

Here we have former Headmaster Alexander Johnstone’s Artium Magistrum (Master of Arts) degree certificate from the University of Glasgow.

Alexander had a long and respected teaching career, first as a teacher at Lanark Grammar, then as the beloved Headmaster of New Lanark Primary School.

Alexander's degree certificate is signed by members of the university’s faculty, such as John Caird, Principal and Vice-Chancellor, and several professors, including William Thomson, Professor of Natural Philosophy, Edward Caird, Professor of Moral Philosophy, and George G.A. Murray, Regius Professor of Greek
