Well, it’s been a long time coming...
Having worked with children, young people and adults across the public sector for nearly twenty years it was obvious what all my work had in common. All the people I have worked with were ‘vulnerable’ in some way.
All my experience led me think ‘what can I do differently that can make a real difference to safeguard and support those most at risk?’
The answer is this...I can start a business that looks to identify, up-skill and support the very people that are either employed or volunteering on the front line working with children, young people so they know how to prevent, respond and report abuse or welfare concerns.
SO Training & Consulting is born.
What’s the aim?
Our aim is look at all filling gaps, gaps in knowledge, gaps in understanding, gaps in service provision so that front-line staff and volunteers have the tools, skills and knowledge to fulfil their roles and their commitments to those they look to support. We are passionate about ensuring that children and young people get the very best out of every experience they have, whether that be in housing, education, family, recreation, community and sports so they get the opportunity to thrive.
What do we provide?
Our focus is all things Safeguarding, Welfare and Well-being.
Identify: Having the vast experience on the front-line we can identify gaps and find positive, pragmatic and innovative solutions to support your work with children and young people.
Up-skill: By providing values led, appropriate and applied training opportunities that go beyond basic understanding of the subject matter but looks at how you can put it into action in your own context.
