Due to the recent drought conditions and neighbouring hose pipe bans we have taken the decision to cancel our Charity car wash in aid of the Firefighters Charity this Saturday.

Keep an eye out for a rescheduled date when hopefully the hose pipe ban has been lifted and we are in a better position with regards to our water supplies.

❗ With record temperatures and prolonged dry weather, the risk of wildfires is higher than ever across our parks, countryside and green spaces.

We can all do our bit to help keep these areas safe:

❌ Avoid using disposable barbecues in open spaces
🧴 Take your litter home with you
🚬 Extinguish ci******es and smoking materials properly
📞 Report any signs of fire immediately by calling 999

Let's work together to protect our communities, wildlife and open spaces this summer. 🌳☀️

Our colleagues at Shoreham have their open day tomorrow.

It’s set to be a fantastic event, doors open for 9am for SEN with the main event starting at 10am.

There’ll be lots of demonstrations, stalls and a raffle all in aid for the amazing Fire Fighters Charity.

Wow!!

What a day, so many people came and supported us yesterday at our open day.

We raised over £1800 for the firefighters charity which is just amazing, thank you very much.

Special thanks to Shoreham Community Fire Station for supporting with the Water Carrier, East Preston Fire Station for supporting us throughout the whole day with fire cover and getting involved in the demonstrations.

Thanks to JB maintenance and Clearance for clearing all of the rubbish.

Paula Rosa Manhattan for the use of their green area for the use of the stall holders.

Thanks to St John’s Ambulance that were there to provide medical assistance to anyone that felt unwell, thankfully they weren’t needed and thank you to all the stall holders.

Lastly a shout out to Lancing Football Club for their help and support.

Keep an eye out for next years open day and we’ll also be holding a car wash later on in the year.

We’re are open from 9am for SEN, providing a quieter atmosphere for the first hour and then we’ll be in full flow from 10am.

Tomorrow is the funeral of our former station officer Ron Glease, Friday 3rd July.

The service will be held at Worthing Crematorium at 1pm in the Kingswood Chapel followed by a celebration of Ron’s life at the Railway Inn, Lancing.

Ron specifically requested “no black tie” and that he would want whatever you felt comfortable in.

In lieu of flowers the family ask that you consider donations to the Firefighters Charity.
