🚒 Raffle Prize Donations Needed – Lancing Fire Station Open Day 🚒

Lancing Fire Station will be holding our Community Open Day on Saturday 11th July 2026 from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. and we’re raising money for The Fire Fighters Charity.

As part of the day, we’ll be running a raffle and we’re looking for local businesses who may be willing to donate a prize such as a voucher, product, service, or experience.

Any donation, big or small, would be hugely appreciated and we’ll be happy to thank supporting businesses during the event and in our promotions.

If you’re able to help, please send us a message or get in touch with the station.

Thank you for supporting your local firefighters and helping us raise money for a fantastic cause. 🔥

So our Legend on the Bench was unveiled today.

The bench is a quiet and safe space for the community to use for those that are facing mental health challenges. It provides a range of different contact numbers for various mental health charities and a QR code that will link to some very valuable resources.

We would encourage people to come and use the bench at any time, it even has a solar powered light so that the numbers and QR code can be seen even at night time.

If we’re coming back from a shout and we see someone sat on the bench, we’ll also pop across and say hello.

You can find out more by clicking on the link below.

The funding for the bench was provided by Feyja’s Calling, a female mental and physical fitness group through sponsorship across various treks, which one of our own female firefighters is a member of this fantastic team.

Thank you to those who kindly donated, your support is greatly appreciated and any support in keeping the area maintained would be very welcome.

We are currently working on a project to improve the flowerbeds around our station, creating a more vibrant and inviting space for everyone. This initiative is part of a broader effort to support mental health and community wellbeing.

We’re proud to be partnering with the charity Legend on the Bench, and together we are installing a su***de prevention bench at the station. This bench will serve as a quiet, reflective space and a visible reminder that help and hope are always available. It’s a meaningful addition to our station and one we hope will make a real difference.

To support this initiative, we are seeking donations—whether in the form of plants, gardening supplies, or financial contributions—to help us refresh and maintain the surrounding flowerbeds. Your generosity will help us create a space that is not only beautiful but also supportive of mental health and community connection.

Time is short as the bench is being installed on Monday, If you’re able to contribute, please don’t hesitate to contact us via our page. We would be happy to acknowledge your support and keep you updated on the progress of the project.

One of our firefighters is taking on a new adventure.

The team of “Strongmen” are taking on Mt. Toubkal, the highest point in North Africa.

Strongmen are a men's bereavement charity supporting men after the loss of a loved one. Grief can cause severe emotional and health conditions which are often overlooked and even ignored, especially in men.

Since the loss of his son, Henry at almost 5 months old to SIDS back in 2022, the charity has gone above and beyond to support him. He now makes it his mission to give back all that he can to help the charity support others like himself going through the grieving process after the loss of a loved one.

Feel free to take a look at Strongmen’s website in the link below which shows the team taking on the challenge and the project story. There's also a couple of short films of some of the training they have taken on, including the documentary of climbing Kilimanjaro in 2024!

If you are able to contribute to the constant cost of supporting more and more men each year every pound is hugely appreciated!

Today we will pause at 1.22pm to remember the 11 people who tragically lost their lives on this day 10 years ago following the Shoreham Airshow disaster.

Our thoughts remain with all of their loved ones on this most difficult of days.

We remember too the impact of the disaster on all emergency service staff who were called upon to respond to this tragic incident.

Please join us in marking this anniversary by pausing, wherever you may be, to remember.
