If you're lucky enough to live in Laneham/Church Laneham then you might have had our latest What's On leaflet through your door over the last few days. It's your guide to all the events going on in the heart of your community this summer, all with a simple mantra - bring people together and have some fun!

If you're a bit further afield than Laneham, then here is a peek at what's happening over the next few months. We're always delighted to have visitors to our events from around the local area!

Our regular Bookies & Cookies happens on the first Saturday of every month, and cinema nights take place once a month too on a Friday evening. There is a weekly Pilates class on Wednesdays at 6pm, and Chess Club also on Wednesdays from 7.30pm.

Added to those we've also got a fab Quiz Night coming up very soon on 13th June - do get in touch if you fancy coming along and taking part. Plus the annual summer fair is also ready to reveal - if you've never been to Laneham Olympics before then make sure you mark your calendar for 18th July! With stalls, BBQ and bar, loads of great events to take part in for all ages, plus the big Ferryboat Inn vs Bees' Knees tug of war to see which pub will reign victorious for the next year and take home the trophy!

And finally a big thanks to all the local business that advertise on our leaflet and make it possible. Give them your support as they have generously done so to us.

Please share this post and help us reach new people!

It's cinema night this Friday at the hall! And it's the multi-award-winning Hamnet showing this time around which revolves around the story of William Shakespeare and his wife Agnes Hathaway as they cope with the death of their 11-year-old son. Starring Jessie Buckley and Paul Mescal, it's won a load of awards and has some seriously high ratings from the online critics.

Now, just because it's won some awards doesn't always mean it's a watchable film, but we'll give this a go and we can judge for ourselves... and if nothing else then it's a Friday night out with some nice folk from the local area and you get to indulge in an ice cream at the interval too! Plus tickets remain the best value for miles around at just £5, which includes free tea, coffee and biscuits!! What's not to love?!

Have a look a the trailer here and we hope you'll come join us. Doors open at 7pm, film starts at 7.30. Cash only for tickets and ice creams please...

Hello hall-fans!

This weekend (Saturday 2nd May 11am - 12.30pm) it's Bookies & Cookies back as usual with a great selection of delicious cakes served up alongside some proper coffee or a cup of tea. The library is open for you to rummage for your next great read to borrow too!

And on Friday 8th May we're back with cinema night and it's the sensational Hamnet showing at 7.30pm. The oscar winning film is about William Shakespeare and his wife, Agnes, celebrating the birth of their son, Hamnet. However, when tragedy strikes and Hamnet dies at a young age, it inspires Shakespeare to write his timeless masterpiece "Hamlet." As usual tickets remain incredible value at just £5!! Let us know if you want to reserve a seat or take your chance and just turn up on the night...

Happy Easter everyone! We hope you had a lovely time with your friends and family over the long weekend!

Lots going on this week at Laneham Memorial Hall:

Friday evening it's cinema night with Song Sung Blue on at 7.30pm. Doors open at 7pm with tickets (a bargain at just £5) available on the door.

Saturday afternoon we've got our Kids Disco - bring the little ones along for a bit of a dance and some food. No need to book, just turn up! £3 per child including a drink and a hotdog. A cheap and cheerful way to let them burn of some Easter energy before they go back to school.

And on Sunday afternoon we've got a Crystal Sound bath with Reiki Lindz. A crystal sound bath is a meditative, immersive experience where participants are "bathed" in sound waves produced by quartz crystal singing bowls. The event takes place at Laneham Memorial Hall on 12th April from 3pm - 4pm, tickets £20pp. You need to prebook you spot - Please call Lindz on 07597 101519 for more info and to book your place.

We hope there is something for everyone to enjoy! Please do come and support the events at your local village hall. Use it or lose it...

EXCITING NEWS FOR LANEHAM!

After many months of hard work around the negotiating table, the Trustees of Laneham Memorial Hall are delighted to announce that the hall has been bought by a local business and will soon be transformed into Laneham's very own V**e Shop!

What was your local hall for community events and fundraising, has been bought for £2,800,000 which will be split between the Trustees as a thankyou for all their volunteering over the years, and the new V**e World store will be open in the coming weeks.

Looking forweard to our Race Night tonight! Doors open at 7pm and the first race will be around 7.15. Food served around 8pm. Bring your own alcohol if you fancy, otherwise it's tea & coffee from the kitchen! Bets are £1 per race and it's tote-style betting (will try to get 8 races in) so please bring some change. Please remember it's a fundraiser for the village hall, as well as a fun night out. Don't come thinking you're going to be buying a new Bentley with the proceeds but we do hope you walk away having had a fun night at the very least 😄
