Huge well done to Kel and Hannah on completing and passing their Ambulance Care Assistant training. All their hard work paid off. 🤩

We look forward to seeing them out and about in our ambulance. 🚑

What a summer we have had! 🥵
In between all the ice creams, petting animals and general fun we had on our duties, we managed to provide medical treatment to 56 people who needed our assistance.

🩹 Many people who asked for our help needed minor wound care.

🩺 Some needed medical assessment and advice or onward referral to minor injury units or their own GP’s.

🚑 Some required more involved clinical interventions for traumatic injuries or serious illness and were transported promptly to emergency departments by our ambulance crews.

Whatever the nature of the service we provided for those 56 people we were proud to have been there when they needed us.

Now as the evenings start to darken and summer fairs give way to Halloween and Christmas festivities, our volunteers regroup for our weekly Tuesday training meetings.
We will debrief the different clinical situations we treated over the last few months, share our experience and build on our knowledge with continual training. Keeping our skills up to date and our proficiencies hot as the weather cools towards winter.

Dedicated to caring.
Proud to volunteer.

Larne Unit were out on duty for the last parade of the marching season. After the busy summer we’ve had the boys definitely deserved those ice creams 🍦😆

Thanks to our neighbours St John Ambulance Carrickfergus Adults for lending us your crew for the day. 🚑

Over 5000 runners took on the Antrim Coast half marathon today and our unit was supported by volunteers from the regional team and neighbouring units in providing the medical cover.

We thank everyone who put on the uniform and turned out today.
Together we staffed 2 treatment centres, 8 emergency response teams, 3 ambulances, 2 rapid response cars, 2 cycle responders, and even a Doctor flying about on a quad!
It was some team for one team.

There were plenty of Mid and East Antrim Borough Council events this week for our volunteers to ‘pop up’ at. 😁

You might have seen them at Broadway and the new Pop Up Park having fun while keeping people safe.
