The Annual Parish Meeting will be held on Thursday 28th May, 7.00 pm, at Leafield Village Hall.

This is a meeting for residents of the parish, local groups and communities have been asked to report on their activities over the last year, and there is an opportunity for residents to raise any matters of interest.

Sewage issue on playing field - update

Thames Water have visited and unclogged part of the sewer system, so its flowing now, and has stopped leaking out of the manhole on the playing field.

For safety the Council has closed the playing field until Thames Water are able to complete the clean up work. They have to wait until the area is dry before this can occur, but hope this can be carried out next week.

Unfortunately this means that the playing field is currently out of use. The Village Hall, Community Gym and Pre-school are still open, and users are asked to stay within the car park boundary.

Update on trees in the village common areas.

As mentioned a few months ago, the PC had to remove the horse chestnut on the green (near the Old Chapel). Having taken advice on species we have decided that in its place we will plant a smaller ornamental Norwegian Maple (Acer Platanoides).

We will also be removing 3 “end of life” trees around the playing field and replacing them with a lime, an oak, and a hornbeam, and removing two trees in the churchyard which are either dying or dead, but not replanting there for now as the canopy is considered still adequate.
