💙 Hate Crime Awareness Week 💙

Everyone deserves to feel safe, respected and valued in our community.

Hate crime is any criminal offence motivated by hostility or prejudice towards someone's race, religion, disability, sexual orientation or transgender identity. It can happen anywhere, to anyone, and its impact can be devastating.

This week we have had the opportunity to speak more about reporting incidents and supporting victims of hate crime. These conversations are important in helping people understand what hate crime is, how to report it, and where support is available.

If you experience or witness hate crime, please don't stay silent. Reporting it helps us support victims, take action against offenders and prevent further harm.

📞 999 in an emergency
📞 101 for non-emergencies
💻 Report online via your local police force
🤝 Support is also available through independent reporting centres

Together, we can challenge hate, celebrate diversity and make our communities a place where everyone feels they belong. 💙

This week is National Hate Crime Awareness Week, and it’s been a welcome opportunity for Leamington North SNT to spend a little more time doing one of our favourite parts of the job —meeting people, hearing their stories and having proper conversations. And, as is often the case, we’ve come away having learnt just as much as we’ve shared! 😆

🕌 On Tuesday I visited the Ahmadiyya Mosque Community Centre, where we chatted about hate crime, how to recognise it and how to report it.
One particularly important discussion was around supporting older members of our community. Let’s face it, we live in a world where practically everything requires an app, a password or a QR code!

We spoke about how we can make reporting easier and more accessible, ensuring nobody feels excluded or unable to speak up.

I also had the pleasure of meeting the new Imam and listening to some wonderful stories from years gone by. Sometimes the best part of our job is simply sitting down, having a conversation and learning from the people around us. ❤️

🥫 We also went to Lillington Pantry, where more conversations led us to a vulnerable local resident who might benefit from some extra support. We popped round for a visit, and it was lovely to see how much it was appreciated.

This is why we love getting out into the community. Sometimes a conversation about one thing leads to something even more important.

Hate crime can affect people because of their race, religion, disability, sexual orientation or transgender identity. If something has happened to you, or you’ve witnessed it, please report it online, call 101 or speak to an officer. Always call 999 in an emergency.

A big thank you to everyone at the Ahmadiyya Mosque Community Centre and Lillington Pantry for making us feel so welcome.

We hope that you are all excited and ready for tonight’s Mop Fair in Warwick!

To make sure we can deter anyone we believe may be spoiling the fun for everyone else away from the fair, we are implementing a temporary Section 34 dispersal order from 5pm this evening (16 October).

This will be in place until 4am on Sunday 18 October and will allow us to take stronger action against people committing antisocial behaviour, ordering them to move away from the area or be arrested.

The areas affected will be those on the map below.

Our officers will be out and about throughout – if you need us, come and have a chat, we’re always happy to help.

🚨 Hate Crime Awareness Week 🚨

Hate crime can have an impact long after an incident has taken place. Nobody affected by hate should feel that they have to deal with it alone.

Across Warwickshire, partners are working together to make sure people can access advice and support and have different ways to report what has happened.

If you have experienced or witnessed hate, reaching out can be the first step towards getting support. Contact Victim Support for practical support via 01926 358 060.

National Hate Crime Awareness Week

Hate has no place in our community.

Hate crime can leave people feeling unsafe, isolated and unheard. We all have a part to play in challenging prejudice, supporting those affected, and building communities where everyone feels safe, respected and welcome.

This National Hate Crime Awareness Week, we’re raising awareness of hate crime, sharing information about support available, and encouraging everyone to take a stand against hate.

💬 Pause. Check. Challenge. Don’t let prejudice, misinformation or hate go unchallenged.
If you experience hate crime, witness an incident, or are affected by what has happened to someone else, you can find information about reporting options and check whether the 24/7 Stop Hate Line is available in your area via https://www.stophateuk.org/

Together, we can spread love, not hate. ❤️

Leamington Spa & Kenilworth SNT | Joint Licensing Operation 🍻 🚭

Last night, officers from the Leamington Spa and Kenilworth Safer Neighbourhood Teams conducted a joint operation alongside Warwickshire County Council Trading Standards and Warwick District Council Licensing.

The operation involved a combination of test purchasing, licensed premises visits, compliance checks, and intelligence gathering across the Warwick district. These proactive visits help ensure businesses are adhering to licensing legislation, identify any concerns at an early stage, and support the safety of our communities.

Partnership working is a key part of tackling issues linked to alcohol sales, underage purchasing of tobacco/nicotine products, anti-social behaviour, and wider criminality. Information gathered during these visits will help shape future activity and enforcement where necessary.

We would like to thank the businesses that engaged positively with officers and partner agencies throughout the operation.

Working together to keep Warwick district safe.

🚨The Holt & Crown Way - Leamington North ASB update!

This evening, officers engaged with eight young people in relation to reports of anti-social behaviour in the Holt and Crown Way area in Lillington.

We know that youth ASB is often peer-driven, with the same predictable behaviours repeatedly adopted by new generations through dares, pack mentality, and attention-seeking on group chats and social media.

The youths spoken to tonight were given strong words of advice regarding their behaviour and the impact it has on local residents and the wider community. Parents or guardians may receive a letter regarding their child's involvement. Where offences are identified, those responsible have been advised that they could become subject to a criminal investigation and/or prosecution.

You may not always see officers in high-visibility clothing during our patrols. This evening, officers were conducting patrols in plain clothes to better identify those involved in ASB and gather intelligence. Just because you don't see us, doesn't mean we're not there. You may not see us, but we may still see you.

We will continue to carry out both uniformed and plain-clothes patrols in the area and will take robust action where necessary to tackle anti-social behaviour and keep our communities safe.

Leamington North - ASB Update 🚶‍♂️

PCSO Sear has been out on foot around Newbold Comyn and visiting local Leamington bike shops, handing out and displaying nuisance bike leaflets to raise awareness and gather community support.

ASB remains a priority for the Leamington North Safer Neighbourhood Team including Vehicle-related and will be robustly dealt with. If you have information about nuisance bikes or vehicle ASB, please continue to report it to us.

Issues can be reported via a QR code found on signage in target areas or via this form: www.warwickshire.gov.uk/dobemin - The most useful information is detailed, including descriptions, names and addresses of riders (if known), and descriptions of the bikes. As well as leading to arrests, suspects being identified and bikes being seized, this info is helping us find stolen bikes that we can return to their owners.
