💙 Baby Loss Awareness Week at Oakley Wood 💗

On Saturday 10 October, we warmly invite parents, families and anyone affected by the loss of a pregnancy, baby or child to join us at Oakley Wood Crematorium for a special remembrance event as part of Baby Loss Awareness Week which runs from the 9th-15th October 2026 Baby Loss Awareness UK.

Whether your loss was recent or many years ago, you are very welcome. It does not matter whether a funeral took place at Oakley Wood, elsewhere, or if there was no funeral at all.

During the event, you will be able to:

🎨 Paint a memorial stone to leave in our Little Oaks Memorial Garden or take home as a special keepsake.

🕯️ Spend some time in our South Chapel, which will be open for quiet reflection and contemplation.

💙 Speak with a member of the Warwick Hospital Chaplaincy Team, who will be available for anyone who would like support.

The event is completely free to attend.

Places for the memorial stone painting workshop can be booked free of charge using the link on our poster or by scanning the QR code.

For further information, please contact our Bereavement Team on 01926 651418 or email [email protected].

Please feel free to share this post with anyone who may find the event helpful. 💙💗

💚 Supporting our local community

We’re very pleased to share that £11,790 has been donated to two local charities through Oakley Wood Crematorium, with £5,895 each going to The Myton Hospices and Brunswick Hub

The donations have been made possible thanks to the generosity of bereaved families who kindly gave permission for orthopaedic implants to be recycled following cremation. The proceeds from this recycling are then used to support charitable causes.

Both charities provide invaluable support within our local community. The Myton Hospices provide specialist care and support to people living with life-limiting illnesses and their families, while Brunswick Hub provides a range of community services, including bereavement support Brunswick Hub Bereavement Support

We would like to say a heartfelt thank you to all of the families whose generosity has made these donations possible. It is wonderful to see something so positive being created from their kindness.

As part of Dying Matters week 2026, we’re opening our doors to everyone in the community on Saturday 9th May, 10:00am – 1:00pm, and you’re warmly invited to come along.

The theme of this year's Dying Matters week is “Let’s talk about Death and Dying” — conversations that can feel difficult, but ones that really matter. What better way to do this than joining us for our open day.

This will be a relaxed and welcoming opportunity to:
• Take a behind-the-scenes tour of our facilities
• See the opening of our baby memorial garden
• Ask any questions you may have
• Speak with our experienced and compassionate team
• Paint a memory stone
• Enjoy a cup of tea or coffee and a cake
• Explore the grounds at your own pace

There’s no need to book — simply come along when it suits you.

We hope you’ll join 💚
