Look who popped in to see us yesterday! 🐾

This is Rotary, our gorgeous guide dog visitor. He was very well behaved, and seemed happy to visit the Library, although we’re not sure he actually borrowed anything…

…. but it’s a useful reminder that everyone is welcome here. So even if you aren’t quite ready to borrow anything from us, you can still pop in for a chat, have a look around and see what we’re all about. 💚

And as for Rotary, we really woofed having him visit 😂🤦‍♀️

Our latest addition to the library is this keyboard, generously donated to us by local resident Eleanor 🙏

So whether you’re a complete beginner, fancy getting back into playing, or just want to find out if you’ve got a future as a piano virtuoso, you can now borrow a keyboard to support your musical journey 🎼🎵🎶

Have you ever seen anyone so happy to be heading off to put up a dado rail? ☺️

Maybe it helped that Johnny borrowed our laser level for much less than it would have cost to buy it new! (It’s £5.00 to borrow it for a week).

There will be no wonky dado rails in Royal Leamington Spa on our watch 💪🤩

Did you know that many of our items are borrowed because someone wants to try to do something they haven’t done before?

For example, here is Jun, returning our sewing machine after successfully shortening a pair of curtains! He said it was a “bit of a learning curve” but he got there in the end 💪🤩

Our little red suitcase has left Leamington for another trip!

We absolutely love this gorgeous photo, but can you guess where in the UK our borrower has taken it? (Clue: it’s up north ☺️)

Last week Clare borrowed the wet and dry vacuum cleaner.

If you haven’t come across one of these before, it acts as a broom, a standard vacuum, a mop, and a plunger all in one. The key point is that if you’ve got liquids or wet stuff on your floor, it could save your normal vacuum cleaner from a potential catastrophic failure (apologies for the high drama).

Anyway, it’s due back on the 31st August and it costs just £10 per week to borrow. Reserve it now using the link in the comments.

A big thank you to local resident Carol for donating this lightweight garden shredder to the library 🙏

So if your garden is producing more hedge trimmings, twigs and garden waste than you know what to do with, this could be just the thing to help turn it into a much more manageable pile. It’s not designed for thick branches, though — so please don’t bring us a tree and expect miracles! 😄

This one isn’t quite on our inventory yet, so consider this a little coming soon preview.

And yes, we know the photo is of volunteer John rather than Carol. Carol donated the shredder… John volunteered for the glamorous modelling job. 😂
