The right care can make a difference for everyone involved. 💙

For your loved one, it can mean personalised support that helps them stay independent and continue the routines that matter most.

For you, it can mean more space to rest, reconnect and return to being a daughter, son, partner or relative again.

Support for them. More balance for you.

🌸 October is Menopause awareness month 🌸

While hormone replacement therapy can alleviate symptoms for some, lifestyle
changes are equally important:

🥗 Balanced Diet: Include foods rich in calcium and vitamin D to support bone health.

💪 Regular Exercise: Strengthens bones and muscles, and boosts mood.

🧘 Stress Management: Try meditation, deep breathing, or relaxation techniques to manage emotional symptoms.

🛌 Adequate Sleep: A regular sleep routine can improve sleep quality and overall wellbeing.

Remember, menopause is a natural phase of life. Understanding the hormonal changes can empower individuals to manage symptoms effectively and maintain overall well-being.

Starting the conversation about care can feel like a big step, but it doesn’t have to be complicated. 💙

Thinking about what support might be helpful, the routines that matter most and any questions you’d like to ask can help make that first conversation feel more useful.

You don’t need to have all the answers or make any decisions straight away. Sometimes, it’s simply about understanding your options and finding out what could work for you or someone you love.

Not sure how to talk to a loved one about care? We’re here to help. Get in touch with your local Radfield Home Care team for a friendly, no-obligation conversation. ✨

It’s about more than a helping hand. 💗

It isn’t just about helping with everyday tasks. It’s also about having someone to chat to over a cuppa, sharing a laugh, enjoying a favourite hobby or getting out and about to places you love.

At Radfield Home Care Epsom & Leatherhead, we know how important it is to stay connected to the people, activities and routines that make life special.

Whether it’s a friendly face popping in for a visit, some company on a walk or a little help to enjoy your usual routine, we’re here to make everyday life that bit easier and more enjoyable.

Caring for someone you love can sometimes change the rhythm of your relationship.

Having the right support in place can make everyday responsibilities feel more manageable, leaving more time for conversation, connection and enjoying each other’s company.

Because the relationship you share still matters.

If this feels familiar, speak to your local Radfield Home Care team about support that could help restore what matters:

Last week, we visited The Beacon School in Banstead for their careers fair, and spoke to students about the different opportunities available in adult social care.

There was plenty of hands-on learning, from practising CPR on our training doll to having a go at taking observations using our Whzan Blue Box. It was a great opportunity for students to try out some of the practical skills involved in adult social care and find out more about a career where they can make a real difference to people's lives.

Sometimes, a little extra support can make more room for the parts of family life you want to hold onto. 💙

Help with things like meals, medication or shopping can free up time for a proper catch-up, a walk together or simply enjoying each other’s company without everything revolving around the practicalities.

If you are starting to take on more care for a family member, our guide explains what that can look like and where to begin:

Did you know?

Menopause can affect much more than your periods and temperature.

Hormonal changes can bring a range of symptoms that aren't always immediately recognised as being linked to menopause, including:

🧠 Brain fog and difficulty concentrating
💤 Trouble sleeping or feeling exhausted
💙 Anxiety, low mood or changes in confidence
🦴 Aching muscles and joints
❤️ Heart palpitations

Not everyone experiences the same symptoms, and they can change throughout perimenopause and menopause.

If something doesn't feel right, it's worth speaking to your GP. You don't have to simply put up with symptoms that are affecting your everyday life.

The more we understand and talk about menopause, the easier it becomes to support one another.
