Bouncy castles, burgers and a big burst of community spirit! 🎪🍔💛
What a day! Our Hamara Open Day was packed with fun, friendship, food and fantastic activities for the whole family.
From Diddi Cars, football fun with Leeds United Foundation and energetic demonstrations from Savage Martial Arts, to beautiful henna, glitter tattoos and creative crafts, there was something happening in every corner. We loved the colourful Paint & Play session with Seagulls, the brilliant children’s sensory workshop from the British Library, and seeing families getting involved, getting active and getting creative together.
There was plenty of movement, making, meeting and mingling, with support and information from some incredible organisations alongside all the entertainment. We were also delighted to welcome our police and fire service colleagues, giving children the chance to get up close to the vehicles and meet the people behind the uniforms. 🚒🚓
A massive thank you to Active Leeds, The King’s Trust, Dad Matters, Being You Leeds, Brave Words, Community Champions, Seagulls, the British Library, Clean Up Hub UK, Litter Free Leeds, Yorkshire Sport Foundation, Savage Martial Arts, Leeds United Foundation, the Council’s Housing Team and Kop Kat, as well as every partner, provider and organisation that gave their time to be with us.
And of course, a huge thank you to our Hamara staff and volunteers who planned, prepared, welcomed, cooked, cleaned, coordinated and kept everything moving throughout the day. 💛
It was a day full of community, creativity, connection, collaboration and celebration — and exactly what Hamara is all about.
Big smiles, brilliant people and beautiful community moments. Thank you to everyone who came and made our Open Day so special! ✨🎉
