This week's book review for comes from Walter. He was unable to submit his review via our Microsoft Forms link so we made an exception and allowed him to submit photographic evidence of his reading.

Although he appears to have fallen asleep we're assured he found Amy Tan's 1989 exploration of the Chinese diasporic experience completely riveting, and he's sure you will too!

🔎 We are delighted to announce that local writer Geoff Major will be visiting Ossett Library!

Geoff had the idea for a story called 'Deadline' 20 years ago. After retiring he wrote and published the novel.

You may have met him at the 'Murder in the Rhubarb Triangle' event this summer.

He will be talking about his books and writing at Ossett next month!

Tonight buildings across Leeds will be lit up in Blue for Dyspraxia Awareness Week

The theme this year is "Every Story Matters" – celebrating individual experiences, strengths, and challenges of people living with Dyspraxia/Developmental Coordination Disorder

Developmental Coordination Disorder (DCD), also known as Dyspraxia in the UK, is a common disorder affecting fine and/or gross motor coordination in children and adults.
An individual’s coordination difficulties may affect participation and functioning in everyday life skills including in education, work and employment and may have other negative impacts such as social emotional difficulties as well as difficulties with time management, planning and organisation.

Despite affecting over 5% of the population, DCD continues to be misunderstood and under-researched.
