Outdoor adventure at Nell Bank🌿

Last Friday, SNAPS families joined our Wildlife Explorers’ Day at Nell Bank, with a morning full of hands-on fun exploring how animals use their senses (including navigating a path blindfolded, just like a mole!)

In the afternoon, it was time for pond dipping and discovering what they could find, followed by the adventure playground and plenty of splashing in the water play area 💧

It was such a fantastic day of exploring, learning and having fun together, with lots of smiles along the way. Thank you to everyone who joined us!

💬Counselling / Psychotherapy sessions available 💬

We’re really pleased to share that counselling / psychotherapy sessions are available for parents who feel they would benefit from some extra emotional support.

Sessions are £16, and the waiting list is now open again.

Talking therapy can help with things like feeling anxious or overwhelmed, low mood or confidence, processing a difficult experience, or coming to terms with a diagnosis. It can also support you with bereavement, relationship challenges, or managing difficult feelings such as guilt, anger or stress.

Thank You, Paul.

Today we want to say a heartfelt thank you to Paul Rowson as he steps down after 8 incredible years as Vice Chair of the SNAPS Board of Trustees.

Paul has brought so much to SNAPS over the years. With a background in education and senior roles across the public, private and voluntary sectors, he has always offered wise, thoughtful and strategic guidance to help shape our direction.

But what has made Paul truly special is not just his experience - it’s the way he has shown up for SNAPS time and time again. Whether volunteering at events, supporting the team, or offering a listening ear, Paul has given his time and energy generously.

He is a kind, warm, funny and incredibly intelligent man who has been a real pleasure to work alongside. His presence on the Board has made a lasting difference, and his impact on SNAPS will be felt for many years to come.

Paul, thank you for everything you have given to SNAPS. We will miss you greatly, but you will always be part of the SNAPS family💜

A little peek inside our cooking club👩‍🍳

Children have been busy mixing, shaping and creating their own bakes. Well done to everyone for getting stuck in and giving it a go 🍪

Sessions like this are a great way to build confidence, independence and everyday life skills in a fun, relaxed setting.

Meet Arlo💙

Arlo is 4 and loves books, bubbles and bouncing✨

For nearly two years, SNAPS has been part of his routine - a place where he can be himself and his family feel supported and understood.

Next weekend, Arlo and his family are taking on the SNAPS Superhero Challenge 🦸‍♂️

They’re looking forward to a fun, inclusive day out and time together with other families. They’re also fundraising to help make sure families like theirs can continue to access SNAPS - and we’re so grateful 🙏

Meet Jakob!

Four year-old Jakob and his family are really looking forward to returning to the SNAPS Superhero Challenge this year. We can’t wait to see them back on the track🦸

Jakob's mum, Mel, says: “Seeing him running around the track and being cheered on last year was really special. It’s a fun, welcoming day, where children are celebrated for who they are. Events like this help make sure that support is there for families who need it.”
