Churchill, the capital of the world for wild polar bears, has hit temperatures as high as 36.9°C. Heat spikes there aren't new, but they're getting more frequent as the climate warms.

That's bad news for the sea ice. Warmer temperatures mean it forms later in autumn and melts earlier in spring, shrinking the window wild polar bears have to hunt seals. Less ice, less time to feed, and decades of that adding up has hit wild populations hard.

Every fraction of a degree matters here, which makes it all the more important that we all play our part in tackling climate change.

This is Ezra. He's a maneless zebra, a subspecies that skips the hairdo and lets the stripes do all the talking.

They're one of the rarest of their kind, hit hard by decades of poaching and conflict, and there aren't many strongholds left where they still roam in real numbers.

That's why Ezra's part of our conservation breeding programme, helping safeguard the species for future generations.
