Lots of counties have got one – the Lancashire Hot Pot ...the Yorkshire Pudding...the Cornish Pasty. Here in Leicestershire we have lots of great food, but we don’t have that one individual dish that best represents our county. Le-One is on a mission to find Leicestershire’s signature dish, ably supported by celebrity chef James Tanner. We will be asking for your help to find the recipe that best
deserves the title of Leicestershire’s signature dish. We are inviting you to send in your recipe for the dish that you think best represents the County’s culinary tastes. Your dish could be a tried and tested gem that has been handed down through the generations, or it could be a brand new recipe that features some of Leicestershire’s trademark ingredients – Leicestershire cheese and Melton Mowbray pork pie to name just two! If you are one of our four finalists, you will win the chance to take part in the Leicestershire Cook-Off event on October 4th 2011 - your dish will be prepared by a team of professional chefs and will be sampled by our judging panel headed up by celebrity chef James Tanner!! The overall winner will receive an amazing £1000 worth of kitchen equipment and vouchers for Highcross shopping centre, each of the three runners-up will also win the chance to experience one of the county’s best cookery courses.
