If you don’t want Blaby to become part of Leicester City, it’s really important that as many of us as possible complete the consultation- Supporting the District Council proposal (see comments). The option put forward by the district/borough councils ensures services are kept as local as possible!

Beggars Lane update- from County Councillor
Feb 9th-14th will be for temporary traffic lights and the Feb 14th-22nd will be a full closure. This should minimise disruption and the closure will be during the school holidays.

📣 Proposals are emerging for additional homes in the Parish of Lubbesthorpe,
West of New Lubbesthorpe, including a new road from Beggars Lane to Desford Road, a primary school and local centre.

This is completely separate from “New Lubbesthorpe”

Regarding the road works on Beggars Lane, County Council have advised that the works are postponed, but the signs have yet to be removed - tbc in new date

Further to the road traffic accident yesterday, I have reported the debris/mess on the pavement to Leicestershire County Council, as there is a lot of glass etc on the pavement

I have also contact the Drummond Estate to see if they can replace the tree

This month saw the start of the school crossing, as well as the extension of New Lubbesthorpe Primary school.

It’s been really positive to see the impact you can make as a district councillor. These were two of the issues I tackled after being elected, so seeing them coming to fruition has been amazing, knowing they’re addressing concerns within the community.

Local Politics isn’t always easy, but it can make an impact!
